The temperature in August 2015 averaged 77.7F and was 1F above normal.  The month ranked as the 4th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 1988. Sixteen days averaged near or below normal. There were 13 days with maximums of 90F or higher (normal is 6).

Precipitation totaled in August continued the trend of July with below normal precipitation. A total of 1.74 inches of rain was recorded and was 45 percent of normal. The month ranked as the 6th driest such month on record and the driest since 1988. August was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal precipitation and the 4th consecutive such month with below normal precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was .84 inches on the 11th. There were only 15 clear days and only 1 overcast days.
