AUTUMN 2018: The temperature for September averaged 70.7F and was 2.1F above normal.  The month ranked as the 6th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2010.  The month was the 5th consecutive month with above normal temperatures and the 2nd consecutive month with above normal temperatures. Only 7 days averaged below normal. There were only 2 days with maximums of 90F or higher.  There were and 4 days with maximums of 90F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 96°F on the 6th and 51°F on the 10th.

October averaged 56.9F and was 2.1F Below normal.  The month ranked as the 6th coldest such month on record (since 1977) and the coldest since 2013.  This was exactly opposite of September. The month was the 17th such month on record. The first 12 days of the month averaged as much as 12F above normal. Ten days had maximums of 70F or greater and 3 days with maximums of 80F or greater. Temperature extremes included 83°F on the 10th and 33°F on the 22nd.

The average temperature for November was 43°F and was 3.8°F Below normal.  The month ranked as the 6th coldest such month on record (since 1977) and the coldest since 1989. The month was also the 2nd consecutive such month with below normal temperatures and the 2nd consecutive month with below normal temperatures. Only 6 days averaged above normal. Four days had maximums of 60°F and higher and 2 days of 70°F or higher.  There were 10 days with minimums of 32°F or lower and 1 day with a maximum of 32°F or lower. Temperature extremes included 74°F on the 2nd and 12°F on the 23rd.

The season averaged 56.9F and ranked as the 13th coldest such season and the warmest since 1991.

Precipitation for September totaled 7.63 inches and was 3.53 inches above normal. The month ranked as the 3rd wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2002 and was the 2nd consecutive such month with above normal precipitation and the 3rd consecutive month with above normal temperatures. There were 12 days with measurable precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.98 inches on the 25th.  There were only 5 clear days and only 17 overcast days.

Precipitation for October totaled 3.45 inches and was .12 inches above normal. The month ranked as the 22nd such month on record with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1981. The month was also the 4th consecutive month with above normal precipitation. There were 12 days with measurable precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 1.35 inches on the 26-27th.  There were 8 clear days and 7 overcast days.

Precipitation for November totaled 7.78 inches and was 4.45 inches above normal. The month ranked as the 2nd such month on record with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1977. The month was also the 5th consecutive month with above normal precipitation. There were 14 days with measurable precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 1.50 inches on the 24-25th.  There were only 5 clear days and 10 overcast days.

Precipitation for the season totaled 18.86 inches and ranked as the 2nd wettest such season on record and the wettest since 1977. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.98 inches on September 25th. The period October-November precipitation totaled 11.23 inches and ranked as the 5th wettest such period on record and the wettest since 1983. Snowfall was also above normal with 6.0 inches.  It was the most to fall in a 24 hour period on record and the most to fall in the month of November (1977).
