The average temperature for December averaged 38.5°F and was 0.8°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 13th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 1999. Only the first 13 days of the month averaged below normal. There were not any days with maximums of 32°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 59°F on the 28th and 20°F on the 8th.

Precipitation totaled 7.26 inches and was 3.35 inches above normal. The month ranked as the 2nd wettest such month on record with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1983. The month was also the 6th consecutive month with above normal precipitation. There were 11 days with measurable precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 1.94 inches on the 20-21st.  There were only 7 clear days and 8 overcast days. Snowfall was also below normal with only a trace record.  The month tied with 1978, 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2001 as the 2nd least snowiest such month.
