AUTUMN 2021:  September’s temperature averaged 71.1°F and was 2.9°F above normal.  The month tied with September 1983 and 2017 as the 4th warmest such mon on record (since 1977).  The month was 2nd consecutive month with above normal temperatures.   There were 21 days with above normal temperatures.  There was 1 day with a maximums of 90°F or higher and 6 days with maximums of 85°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 90°F on the 13th and 52°F on the 29th.

 

October’s temperature averaged 62.5°F and was 3.5°F above normal.  The month ranked as warmest such month on record (1977).  The month was 3rd consecutive month with above normal temperatures.   Only 4 days out of the month averaged below normal.  None of the days had maximums above 90°F.  There were 16 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 3 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 83°F on the 15th and 43°F on the 294h.

 

November’s temperature averaged 45.6°F and was 1.2°F below normal.  The month ranked as the 18th coldest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was the coldest November since 2008.   Nine days out of the month averaged near or above normal.  There were 7 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  There only one day with a maximum of 70°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 72°F on the 9th and 26°F on the 30th.

 

For the season, the temperature averaged 59.7°F and tied with 2011, 2020 and 2021 as the 2nd consecutive such season with above normal temperatures and the 2nd consecutive such season with above normal temperatures.

 

Precipitation in September totaled 10.45 inches and was 6.35 inches above normal (255%).  The month ranked as the wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2011 with 9.89 inches.  The month was also the 3rd consecutive such month with above normal precipitation.  Measurable precipitation fell on 8 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 7.91 inches on the 1-2nd from the remnants of Ida.  There were only 6 clear days and 12 overcast days.

 

Precipitation in October totaled 6.75 inches and was 3.42 inches above normal (203%).  The month ranked as the 9th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 1990.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal precipitation.  The month was also the 5th consecutive such month with above normal precipitation.  Measurable precipitation fell on 11 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 4.41 inches on the 26th.  There were 10 clear days and 11 overcast days.

 

Precipitation totaled only 1.29 inches and was 3.42 inches above normal (203%).  The month ranked as the 3rd driest such month on record and was the driest since 2003.  The month the first month with below normal precipitation since June 2021. Measurable precipitation fell on 10 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was .61 of an inch on the 12th.  There were 10 clear days and 11 overcast days.

 

Precipitation for the season totaled 18.49 inches and ranked as the 4th wettest such season on record and the driest since 2011.  The season also ranked as the 2nd consecutive such season with above normal precipitation.
