AUTUMN:  The temperature for September averaged 70°F and ranked as the 9th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2011.  Half the month experienced near or below normal temperatures.  Most occurred during the last half of the month.  There were 6 days with maximums of 90°F or higher (normal is 1) and 18 days with maximums below 80°F.  Temperature extremes included 96°F on the 7th and 50°F on the 27th.

The temperature for October averaged 61°F and tied with October 1984 as the 4th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with and the consecutive month with above normal temperatures.  Ten days averaged near or above normal.  There were 6 days with maximums of 80°F or higher and 2 days with temperatures below 60°F.  Temperature extremes included 86°F on the 4th and 44°F on the 31st.

The temperature for October averaged 46.2°F and was near normal (-0.6°F) ranking as the 19th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2010.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive such month with and the consecutive month with above normal temperatures.  Sixteen days averaged near or above normal.  There were 4 days with maximums of 60°F or higher and 4 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 69°F on the 17th and 26°F on the Fall 29th.     

Fall’s temperature averaged 59.1°F and tried with the falls with 1979 as the 5th warmest   such season.

September’s precipitation totaled 8.63 inches (2.05 percent) and was 4.53 inches above normal.  The month ranked as the 6th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2008.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal precipitation and the 2nd consecutive month with above normal precipitation. The most rain to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.38 inches on the 18th which was a record for the day.  The old record was 1.89 inches set in 2004.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 14 days of the month.  There were 11 clear days and 8 overcast days.

Precipitation in October totaled 5.25 inches (1.58 percent) and was 1.92 inches above normal.  The month ranked as the 12th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 1989.  The month was also the 3rd consecutive month with above normal precipitation and the 7th consecutive such month with above normal precipitation. The most rain to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.07 inches on the 20th-21st.  Measurable precipitation fell on 8 days of the month.  There were 15 clear days and 5 overcast days.

Precipitation in November totaled 3.23inches (.98 percent) and was .10 of an inch below normal.  The month ranked as the 24th driest such month on record and the driest since 1982.  The period Oct-Nov. precipitation totaled 8.57 inches and ranked as the 18th wettest such period on record since 1989. The most rain to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.31 inches on the 21-22nd.  Measurable precipitation fell on 5 days of the month.  There were 14 clear days and only 1 overcast day.

Fall’s precipitation totaled 17.11 inches and ranked as the 26th wettest such season on record and the wettest since 2002.  The period Oct.-Nov rainfall totaled 8.57 inches and ranked as 18th wettest such period and the wettest since 1989.  The most rain to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.38 inches on Sep. 18.
