The temperature in March 2015 averaged 36.9F and was 8F below normal.  The month ranked as the 2nd coldest such month on record (since 1977) and the coldest since 1984. The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal temperatures and also the 4th consecutive such month with below normal temperatures. Only 9 days averaged near or above normal.  There were two 9 days with maximums of 50F or higher and 1 days with maximums of 60F. There were 20 days with minimums of 32F or lower.  Temperature extremes were 60F on the 11th and 11F on the 6th

Precipitation totaled 3.84 inches and was 88 percent of normal. The month ranked as the 17th driest such month on record and the driest since 1999. The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal precipitation.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with below normal precipitation. The most to fall in a 24-hour period was .79 of an inch on the 14th. Snowfall was also above normal with 16.0 inches and was 10.8 inches above normal. The month ranked as the snowiest such month on record and the snowiest since 1984.  For the season snowfall totaled 45.8 inches and was 15.9 inches above normal. The season ranked as the 6th snowiest such season on record and the most since 2007.  The most to fall in a 24-hour period was 7.0 inches on March 5th. There were only 8 clear days and 10 overcast days.
