The temperature for September averaged 70°F and ranked as the 9th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2011.  Half the month experienced near or below normal temperatures.  Most occurred during the last half of the month.  There were 6 days with maximums of 90°F or higher (normal is 1) and 18 days with maximums below 80°F.  Temperature extremes included 96°F on the 7th and 50°F on the 27th.      

Precipitation totaled 8.63 inches (2.05 percent) and was 4.53 inches above normal.  The month ranked as the 6th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2008.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal precipitation and the 2nd consecutive month with above normal precipitation. The most rain to fall in a 24-hour period was 2.38 inches  on the 18th which was a record for the day.  The old record was 1.89 inches set in 2004.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 14 days of the month.  There were 11 clear days and 8 overcast days.
