SPRING 2021:  The temperature for March averaged 45.4°F and was 3.2°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 8th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 1998 and the 2nd consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  Only 9 days averaged below normal.  None of the days had maximums of 32°F or lower.  There were 14 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  There were 19 days with maximums of 50°F or higher, 12 days of maximums of 60°F or higher and 4 days with maximums of 70°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 81°F on the 26th and 21°F on the 2nd.

 

April’s temperature averaged 53.9°F and was 2.7°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 18th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2001.  Eleven days average near or below normal.  There were 2 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  There were 11 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 1 days with a maximum of 80°F or higher.   Temperature extremes included 89°F on the 28th and 27°F on the 2nd.

April’s precipitation totaled 2.62 inches and was 1.26 inches below normal (68%).  The month ranked as the 12th such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1978.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal precipitation.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 14 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was .67 inches on the 25th.  Snowfall was also below normal with only a trace recorded.  The tied with 2002, 07 and 2009, as the least snowiest such month on record.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal snowfall.  The most received in a 24-hour period was a trace on the 2nd.

 

May’s precipitation totaled 5.80 inches and was 1.36 inches above normal (131%).  The month ranked as the 14th such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1988.  Most of the rain fell between the 28th-30th.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 11 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.25 inches on the 30th.  

 

Precipitation for the season totaled 11.33 inches and ranked as the 14th driest such season on record and the driest since 1988.  The season ranked as the 3rd consecutive such season with below normal precipitation.  Snowfall was below normal with only a trace recorded.
