SPRING 2021:  The temperature for March averaged 45.4°F and was 3.2°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 8^th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 1998 and the 2^nd consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  Only 9 days averaged below normal.  None of the days had maximums of 32°F or lower.  There were 14 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  There were 19 days with maximums of 50°F or higher, 12 days of maximums of 60°F or higher and 4 days with maximums of 70°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 81°F on the 26^th and 21°F on the 2^nd.

April’s temperature averaged 53.9°F and was 2.7°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 18^th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2001.  Eleven days average near or below normal.  There were 2 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  There were 11 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 1 days with a maximum of 80°F or higher.   Temperature extremes included 89°F on the 28^th and 27°F on the 2^nd.

The temperature in May averaged 63°F and was 0.2°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 16^th coldest such month on record (since 1977) and the coldest since 2013.  The month was also the 3^rd consecutive such month with below or near normal temperatures.  Seventeen days averaged near or above normal.  There were 14 days with Maximums of 70°F or higher and 8 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  There were also 3 days with maximums of 90°F or higher.  On the other side, there were 2 days with maximums of 60°F and lower.  Temperature extremes included 92°F on the 26^th and 42°F on the 1^st.

For the season, the temperature averaged 55.9°F and ranked as the 3^rd warmest such month on record and the warmest since 2012.  Temperature extremes were 92°F on May 26^th and 2°F on March 2^nd.

Precipitation in March totaled 2.91 inches and was 1.23 inches below normal (70%).  The month ranked as the 10^th such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1992.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 8 days of the month.  Most of it fell in the last 8 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.17 inches on the 24-25^th.  Snowfall was below normal with only a trace recorded.  The tied with 1979, 86, 95, 2000, 2002, 08, 10, 20, as the least snowiest such month on record.  The most received in a 24-hour period was a trace on the 16^th and 19^th.

April’s precipitation totaled 2.62 inches and was 1.26 inches below normal (68%).  The month ranked as the 12^th such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1978.  The month was also the 2^nd consecutive month with below normal precipitation.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 14 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was .67 inches on the 25^th.  Snowfall was also below normal with only a trace recorded.  The tied with 2002, 07 and 2009, as the least snowiest such month on record.  The month was also the 2^nd consecutive month with below normal snowfall.  The most received in a 24-hour period was a trace on the 2^nd.

May’s precipitation totaled 5.80 inches and was 1.36 inches above normal (131%).  The month ranked as the 14^th such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1988.  Most of the rain fell between the 28^th-30^th.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 11 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.25 inches on the 30^th.  

Precipitation for the season totaled 11.33 inches and ranked as the 14^th driest such season on record and the driest since 1988.  The season ranked as the 3^rd consecutive such season with below normal precipitation.  Snowfall was below normal with only a trace recorded.
