SPRING 2021:  The temperature in June averaged 74.6°F and was 4.6°F above normal.  The month tied with June 1981, 1984 and 2008 as the 4th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  There were 13 days with Maximums of 85°F or higher and 10 days with maximums of 90°F or higher.  There were also 12 days with maximums of 80°F or lower. 

 

The temperature in July averaged 77.4°F and was -0.1°F below normal.  The month tied with July 2005 and 2007 as the 16 the coldest such month on record (since 1977).  There were 9 days with maximums of 90°F or higher and 5 days with maximums of 80°F or lower. Seventeen days averaged near or above normal.   Temperature extremes included 96°F on the 16th and 57°F on the 31st.

 

The temperature in August averaged 78.4°F and was 2.7°F above normal.  The month ranked as the 4th warmest such mon on record (since 1977).  The month was the warmest since 20018.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  There were 16 days with above normal temperatures.  There were 11 days with maximums of 90°F or higher (normal is 6) and 16 days with maximums of 85°F or higher.  There were also 6 days with temperatures 80°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 996°F on the 13th and 61°F on the 2nd.

 

 

 

For the season, the temperature averaged 76.8°F and ranked as the5th warmest such season on record and the warmest since 1983.  The season also ranked as the 4th consecutive such season with above normal temperatures.

June’s precipitation totaled 3.28 inches and was .74 of an inch below normal (82%).  The month ranked as the 20th such month with below normal precipitation and the driest since 1980.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 11 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.97 inches on the 8th.

Precipitation in July totaled 9.65 inches and was 5.37 inches above normal (225%).  The month ranked as the 2nd such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 2004.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal.  Measurable precipitation fell on only 16 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 2.41 inches on the 2nd.  

Precipitation In August totaled 7.32 inches and was 3.06 inches above normal (172%).  The month ranked as the 4th wettest such month with above normal precipitation and the wettest since 1990.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive such month with above normal precipitation.  Measurable precipitation fell on 10 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour period was 2.49 inches on the 22nd from the remnants of Henri. 

Precipitation for the season totaled 14.54 inches and ranked as the 9th wettest such season on record and the driest since 2014.  The season also ranked as the 4th consecutive such season with above normal precipitation.
