SPRING 20223:  June’s temperature averaged 70.4°F and ranked as the 9th coldest such month on record and the coldest since 2018.  The month was also the second consecutive month with near normal temperatures (since records started 1977).   There were 26 days with maximums of 85°F or lower.  There was only one days with a maximum of 90°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 92°F on the 2nd and 50°F on the 4th.

The temperature in July averaged 79.7°F and ranked as the 7th warmest such month on record and the warmest since 2019.  The month was also the second consecutive month with above normal temperatures (since records started 1977).   There were 12 days with maximums 0f 90°F or higher.  There 10 days with near or below normal temperatures.  Temperature extremes included 94°F on the 28th and 64°F on the 31st.

The temperature for August averaged 75.7F and tied with August 2009 as the 20th such warmest month on record.  There weren’t any days with maximums 0f 90°F or higher (first time since 2008).  There were 5 days with maximums below 80°F.  There were 19 days with near or below normal averages.   Temperature extremes included 89°F on the14th and 62°F on the 18st.

 

Summer’s temperature averaged 76.6F and tried with the summers 1988 and 1991 as the 8th warmest such season.

Precipitation for June totaled 2.44 inches (63%).  The month ranked as the 9th driest such month on record and the driest since 2018.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive month with below normal precipitation.  Most of the month’s rainfall fell during the remaining 9 days of the month.  The most received in a 24-hour was .796 on an inch on the 26th.  Measurable precipitation fell on 13 days of the month.  There were 6 clear day and 8 overcast days.
