WINTER 2022-23: The temperature for December averaged 38.1°F and tied with December 2020 as the 15th warmest such month on record (since 1977).   The month was also the 5th consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  Thirteen days averaged near or below normal.  There were 93 days with maximums of 50°F or higher and 1 day with maximums of 60°F or higher.  There were 3 days with maximums of 32°F or lower (which is normal).  There were 18 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 63°F on the 30th and 76°F on the 24th.

 

The temperature for January averaged 43.2°F and ranked as the warmest such month on record (since 1977).   The month was also the 5th consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  All days averaged above normal the greatest departure occurred on the 4th with a departure of 27°F.  There 29days with maximums of 40°F or higher and 14 days with maximums of 50°F or higher.  There was only 6 days with minimums of 32°F or lower and there were o days with maximums of 32°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 65°F on the 4th and 28°F on the 16th.

April’s temperature averaged 57.6°F and ranked as the 2nd warmest such month on record and the warmest since 2010 (since records started 1977).   Twelve days averaged near or below normal and occurred mostly during the last week of the month.  There were 11 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 4 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  There were 2 days with maximums of 90°F or higher (normal is zero).  Temperature extremes included 92°F on the 14th and 35°F on the 3rd.

 

The temperature for May averaged 63.3°F and tied with May as the 13th warmest such month on record and was also the 2nd consecutive such month with above normal temperatures (since records started 1977).   Fifteen days averaged near or below normal.  There were 7 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 88°F on the 12th and 44°F on the 18th.

 

The season averaged 54.6°F and tied with spring 1986as the 8th consecutive such season with above normal temperatures.  The season was also the 3rd consecutive such season with above normal temperatures. 

 

SUMMER

 

June’s temperature averaged 70.4°F and ranked as the 9th coldest such month on record and the coldest since 2018.  The month was also the second consecutive month with near normal temperatures (since records started 1977).   There were 26 days with maximums of 85°F or lower.  There was only one days with a maximum of 90°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 92°F on the 2nd and 50°F on the 4th.

 

The temperature in July averaged 79.7°F and ranked as the 7th warmest such month on record and the warmest since 2019.  The month was also the second consecutive month with above normal temperatures (since records started 1977).   There were 12 days with maximums 0f 90°F or higher.  There 10 days with near or below normal temperatures.  Temperature extremes included 94°F on the 28th and 64°F on the 31st.

 

The temperature for August averaged 75.7F and tied with August 2009 as the 20th such warmest month on record.  There weren’t any days with maximums 0f 90°F or higher (first time since 2008).  There were 5 days with maximums below 80°F.  There were 19 days with near or below normal averages.   Temperature extremes included 89°F on the14th and 62°F on the 18st.

 

Summer’s temperature averaged 76.6F and tried with the summers 1988 and 1991 as the 8th warmest such season.

The temperature for October averaged 61°F and tied with October 1984 as the 4th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with and the consecutive month with above normal temperatures.  Ten days averaged near or above normal.  There were 6 days with maximums of 80°F or higher and 2 days with temperatures below 60°F.  Temperature extremes included 86°F on the 4th and 44°F on the 31st.

 

The temperature for November averaged 46.2°F and was near normal (-0.6°F) ranking as the 19th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 2010.  The month was also the 2nd consecutive such month with and the consecutive month with above normal temperatures.  Sixteen days averaged near or above normal.  There were 4 days with maximums of 60°F or higher and 4 days with minimums of 32°F or lower.  Temperature extremes included 69°F on the 17th and 26°F on the Fall 29th.

Precipitation for January totaled 3.89 (109%).  The month ranked as the 17th wettest such month on record and the driest since 1985.  The most received in a 24-hour was 1.16” on the 25-26th).  Measurable precipitation fell on 16 days of the month.  Snow was totaled only a trace and was 10.0 inches below normal and 16.3” below for the season.  There was only 1 clear day and 14 overcast days.
