AUTUMN 2010: The temperature in September averaged 70.8F and was 0.7 degrees above normal. The month tied with 1980, and 2004 as the 3^rd warmest such month on record (1977). Nineteen days averaged above normal.  Temperature extremes included 95F on the 1^st and 52F on the 17^th. There were 11 days with maximums of 80F or higher and 3 days with maximums of 90F or higher. There were 10 nights with minimums of 60F or lower. In October the temperature averaged 58.8F and was 0.8 degrees above normal. The month ranked as the 5^th warmest such month on record (1977) and the warmest since 1995. Only 8 days averaged below or near normal.  Temperature extremes included 77F on the 11^th and 42F on the 30^th. There were 17 days with maximums of 70F or higher and 4 days with maximums of 60F or lower. The temperature in November averaged 47.3F and was 1.0 degrees below normal. The month ranked as the 12^th warmest such month on record (1977) and the warmest since 1985. The month was also the 4^th consecutive such month with below normal temperatures. Eleven days averaged near to below normal. Temperature extremes included 67F on the 13^th and 29F on the 29^th. There were 27 days with maximums of 50F or higher and 7 days with maximums of 60F or higher.  There were also 3 days with minimums of 32F or lower.  For the season the temperature averaged 59F and tied with 1990 as the 3^rd warmest such season on record and the 8^th consecutive such season on record.

Precipitation in September totaled 4.17 inches and ranked as the 13^th wettest such month on record and the driest since 1978.  The month was also the 2^nd consecutive such month with above normal precipitation. There were 8 days with measurable precipitation. Rainfall was generally light and sparse through the first half of the month. Most of the month’s rainfall fell from the 27^th-20th. The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.55 inches on the 30^th which broke the old record for the day of .83” set in 1983. Precipitation in October totaled 4.87 inches and ranked as the 10^th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 1995.  The month was also the 3^rd consecutive month and the 2ns consecutive such month with above normal precipitation. There were 9 days with measurable precipitation. Most of the month’s rainfall fell on the first day of the month when 2.85 inches fell which was the most to fall in a 24-hour period. Precipitation in November totaled 2.25 inches and ranked as the 7^th driest such month on record and the wettest since 1996.  The month was also the 2^nd consecutive such month with below normal precipitation. There were 8 days with measurable precipitation. Most of the month’s rainfall fell on the 4rth-5^th with 1.01 inches recorded.  This was also the most received in a 244-hour period. There were 18 clear days and only 3 overcast days. A total of 11.29 inches was recorded for the season. The season ranked as the 17^th wettest such season on record and the wettest since 1988.  The period Sep-Oct ranked as the 12^th wettest such period on record and the wettest since 1993. The period was also the 3^rd consecutive such period of above normal precipitation. The period Oct-Nov a total of 7.12 inches and ranked as the 4^th driest such season on record and the driest since 1991. The period was also the 2^nd consecutive such period on record with below normal precipitation.
