The temperature averaged 63.3°F for May, which is 0.5°F above normal—and tied with 200 and 2023 as the 13th warmest such month on record (since 1977).  The month was also the 4th consecutive month with above-normal temperatures.  There were 13 days with below-normal or near-normal temperatures which occurred in the 2nd half of the month.  There were 18 days with maximums of 70°F or higher and 3 days with maximums of 80°F or higher.  Temperature extremes included 87°F on the 3rd and 47°F on the 23rd.          

Precipitation totaled 6.64 inches (153 percent) and was 2.20 inches above normal.  The month ranked as the 9th wettest such month on record and the wettest since 2017. The month was also the 3rd consecutive month with above-normal precipitation.  There were 17 days with measurable precipitation. The most received in a 24-hour period was 1.41 inches on the 22nd which was was record for the day.  The old record was 1.27 inches in 2001.  There were only 3 clear days and 15 overcast days.
