The average temperature for September was 69.0°F (+0.8°F) and ranked as the 16th warmest such month on record (since 1977) and the warmest since 1979.  The month was also the 4th consecutive such month with above normal temperatures.  There were 12c days that temperatures averaged near or below normal.  Temperature extremes included 85°F on the 14th and 54°F on the 8th.         

Precipitation totaled only 1.33 inches (.32 percent) and was 2.77 inches below normal.  This in contract to the previous month with August’s rainfall 2.40 percent of normal (+5.96) above normal.  The month ranked as the 3rd driest such month on record and the driest since 2007.  Measurable precipitation fell on 1 only 5 days.  Most of the month’s rainfall fell between the 26th-29th).  The most to fall in a 24-hour period was .60 inches on the 29th.  There were 12 clear days and 7 overcast  days.
